I notice CE has a collection of pretty popular plugins under the hood. Are these plugins fairly easily "swappable" with other plugin solutions, or will CE not work right, or require a lot of hacking, without the included plugins?? For example, I'm not sure what type of authentication CE uses...so what if we went with the popular "restful-authentication" plugin from technoweenie? Does CE play well with other plugin solutions or is it not really recommended?...

Excellent job with Community Engine, Bruno! I do have a question, though.  Is it possible to send "private" messages / comments to friends?  The community site we are building is in the healthcare industry, so we need the ability for users to have non-public conversations due to HIPAA regulations. Keep up the excellent work!

Hi I have discovered CE plugin and like the concept (it is a great and complete idea), but it doesn't seem to have any documentation. Is it browsing source the only form of learning CE functionality?
